The Zonda counts as one of the ultimate hand-built supercars, with just 140 having been produced since the first one emerged to be shown in Geneva in 1999. Although the original model had a hard top, a Roadster model was revealed in 2003 of which 40 have been built. It was remarkable for the extra strengthening needed for the body to add just 30kg (66lbs) to the car’s weight. Regular upgrades have included the use of carbon-titanium body parts to trim even more excess pounds from the car. Most recently, we have seen several spin-offs from the track-only Zonda R and the development of the Zonda 760 Series of one-off models, including one for five-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton which he famously crashed in Monaco in 2015.
